Conductor, Artistic Director of Opera SNG Opera in balet Ljubljana
The Slovenian conductor Marko Hribernik was born into a musical family and began his career as a pianist. He graduated from the Academy of Music in Ljubljana under Professor Aci Bertoncelj. He received the Student Prešeren Award for his remarkable pianistic achievements. While still studying piano, he also decided to pursue his conducting career, first at the Ljubljana Academy of Music under Professor Anton Nanut and later at the University of Music in Vienna under Professor Uroš Lajovic, where he graduated with honours in 2014.
Marko Hribernik works with all Slovenian orchestras and both national opera theatres. He appears as a guest conductor at various musical and opera houses and festivals in Europe. Marko Hribernik is an Assistant Professor at the Academy of Music in Ljubljana and since 2021 has been Artistic Director of Opera at SNG Opera in balet Ljubljana .
