To kick off the semi-finals, the RING AWARD FORUM took place the evening before, Friday, January 17, 2025, at Next Liberty in Graz. The multi-faceted, in-depth panel discussion on the topic of ‘Female figures in classical music theatre’ in cooperation with the trade journal Opernwelt was met with frenetic applause. The panel included the celebrated singer Vera-Lotte Boecker, award-winning director Tatjana Gürbaca, the Artistic Director of Theater an der Wien, Stefan Herheim, and Dr. Ann-Christine Mecke, designated chief dramaturge of the Hanover State Opera. The evening was moderated by Jürgen Otten, editor-in-chief of Opernwelt.
